A GSM customer recently had a question about my SATB choral anthem, “Bread of the World.” I hadn’t looked at it in a few decades, so it was like catching up with an old friend. This was one of my first sacred choral anthems and I am pleased to report it still feels fresh and relevant today. If you’re need a communion anthem and want to take a little break from Mozart’s “Ave Verum,” this might be the one for you. It is simple, stately, and has moments of counterpoint that are a refreshing change from most church choir fare. Plus, you can outfit your whole choir with music for only $25!
